Gelling my hair?????

I'm a 14 year old male. I was just wondering how to gel my short to medium length hair. It sticks up at the front and I really don't like it like that. I'm really don't have a clue so could you make it detailed or give me a detailed link or video. Would you recommend a type of gel aswell, thanks.
