My beginning (idea) is so cliche.....any suggestions?

Ok so I have most of my outline plotted out, but I am not in love with my beginning...at all... and so I need help making it sound original and out of the box....ok so here it goes: My story is about this family who have a baby boy (christopher) but then one day his parents get killed by someone who is evil... and then somebody finds christopher (with no parents) and decides to adopt him.... and then a few years later he finds out that he is destined to be great.... the idea sounds so harry potter and so fairy tale-ish, and that is something I am not really happy about... so can anyone give me like an idea or a suggestion to not make this a cliche beginning.....i am not asking for a full developed idea, but a little something to get my right brain working....
