Shaving girls help me!?

Basically now that its summer i wanna start wearing shorts etc. But i have a greek/meditteranean background so im fairly hairy my mum lets me shave below the knee but not any higher but its really getting me down because i cant go bare legged in my school skirt and im getting to hot in tights idk what to do :'(
