What to wear in winter besides jeans?

It's July...which means it's time to start thinking about my fall/winter wardrobe. LOL JK but not really....My problem is I find by November I'm wearing jeans and sweaters everyday. It gets pretty cold here in the winter. Does anyone have cute alternatives for colder weather? So far the only other idea I have is a skirts/dresses with tights underneath.
