My hair sticks up and really annoys me. any advice?

It doesn't stick up really bad like bed head, but it is like these few hairs here and there that stick straight out from where they are growing that just annoy the hell out of me. I tried gelling it but that only gets most of them. Any advice? Whenever I take a shower, once it starts drying it dries sticking out and I have to comb it/water it down just to keep it like that for a little while.
