What can i do to make my hair more curly?

Usually when i get out of the shower I spray a little spray gell into my hair and put it in a bun. The next day, about an hour before i go anywhere, i wet it and put more gell and curl spray in it. Sometimes it seems to be flat and SUPER dry cause i have dry hair. What can I do to make it more curly and shiny? And mouse doesnt work for me by the way. PLEASE HELP!
